Ghat is a beautiful mountain pass on highway of Ratnagiri – Kolhapur road,

Vishalgadh Fort:
Vishalgadh
fort is located in the Sayhadri mountain range. It is one the largest fort in
Kolhapur. It is one of the important forts of Shivaji Maharaja and Maratha
Empire. The name “Vishalgadh” means grand – was given by Shivaji Maharaja,
after annexing it with Maratha Empire in 1659. The structure of this fort
covers an area of 1130m it was built on a hilltop of Sahyadri Mountain ranges
at a height of 3500 feet above the sea level.

Ambeshwar Temple, Amba:
Of course India is the country of temples, here you can also visit temple of Mata Amba. It is an ancient temple Shree Ambeshwar, which is considered active enough to respond to devotees prayers.

Wagh Zara – This is the spot popularly known as
Waghzara where tigers come to drink water. Here Wagh means Tiger as well as
Zara means water. So whole meaning is “Place where tiger come to drink water”

How to reach the Amba Ghat?
Amba ghat is a small place
in Maharastra near Kolhapur that can be reached in any of the following manner.
By Road –
One can drive down form Mumbai or from Pune to Amba Ghat. It takes approximately
7 hours to reach there. You will go through Ratnagiri – Kolhapur highway. You
will pass through some very scenic places on the way.
By Train –
The nearest rail station from Amba Ghat Sangameshwar, which is around 50 kms away.
One can take a train from Mumbai, Pune or from any other railway station. Then
take bus from Sangameshwar or use private vehicle to reach Amba ghat.
By Air: The
nearest international Airport to reach Amba Ghat is Pune which is at a distance
of 260 km and take around 6 hours to reach there. The nearest domestic airport
is Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak airport which is also known as Ratnagiri
Airport, which is located at a distance of 75 km away and also takes around 2
hours to cover by road.
